My teaching is research-led, inclusive and grounded in real geophysical observations.
I help students understand the physical principles of seismology while gaining confidence with modern data, software and scientific literature. Courses follow a continuous cycle: formulate a physical question, identify an observable, process and visualize data, evaluate uncertainty and communicate a defensible interpretation.
Reproducible computation, critical thinking, collaboration and scientific communication are integral parts of the scientific method. Project-based learning gives students a structured route from theory to imperfect, real-world waveform data.
